Edukasi Pemanfaatan Sampah Plastik Menjadi Produk Kerajinan Tangan Bernilai Ekonomi Bagi Remaja di Desa Selat Lancang

Abstract

This activity provides education on the use of plastic waste for teenagers in Selat Lancang Village, Datuk Bandar Timur District, Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra Province. The waste problem is related to population growth in the area, which has increased the volume and type of waste it produces. The handling is carried out traditionally, namely burning and burial, hurting the surrounding environment. This service activity aims to provide an initial understanding of the impact of waste, how to handle waste and the use of plastic waste for products with economic value. The method introduces participants from the waste collection and selection stages to produce handicraft products from plastic waste. Implementing this program is beneficial for optimal village waste management, produces products with economic value, and reduces the environmental impact on the surrounding environment.
